Builder-grade rollers are what the majority of homeowners have and they are made of steel or hard plastic. They do not have ball bearings of any kind. We suggest you replace builder-grade garage door rollers every two years since the lack of ball bearings causes them to wear out quickly. If your builder-grade garage door rollers are worn out, you’ll hear a squeaking sound when you open and close your garage door.

Upgraded Garage Door Rollers

Upgraded garage door rollers are typically made out of nylon and they include ball bearings (open or sealed). We suggest you lubricate all open bearing rollers 4x a year.
